- Shave 24 hours beforehand - for maximum results. The hairs root must be in the follicle without any hair sitting above the skin, so shaving beforehand will be beneficial.
- Shower the morning of your appointment - this will give the technician a clean, smooth area to work with.
- Avoid sun exposure and a fake tan
- Wear comfortable clothes
- Don't be afraid to ask questions - our goal is to make your experience as comfortable as possible - so we want you to have all the information you need.
As with any hair removal process, laser hair removal included, harsh soaps, perfumes or deodorant should not be used after treatment.
- Cleanse the treated area gently on the following day
- Avoid make-up and lotion/moisturizer/deordorant for the first 24 hours
- Avoid sun exposure
- DO NOT pick/scratch/wax/thread or tweeze the treated area
After your laser hair removal session, treating your skin with care is essential to promote a swift and hassle-free recovery. While the procedure is generally well tolerated, you may experience mild redness and bumps in the treated area. Not to worry, this is perfectly normal and should subside within 1 or 2 days at the most. Dead hairs will begin to shed between 5 to 30 days after your treatment. You can aid this process by gently exfoliating the area, which may help speed up the process.
Contraindications are conditions or factors that make a particular treatment unsafe or unsuitable for a particular individual. For example, some common contraindications for laser hair removal include:
- Pregnancy
- Active skin infections
- Recent sun exposure or sunburn
- Certain skin conditions (such as eczema, psoriasis)
- Certain medications
All will be discussed with your technician during your consultation.
Depending on the area and coloring of your skin and hair, laser hair removal can require 3 to 8 sessions to achieve maximum results. The interval between sessions is usually 6 weeks.
Ask about our post care products as in our hand-crafted soaps, oils and exfoliating mitt to remove all dead skin cells and hairs.
Our hand-crafted goat's milk-based soap provides your skin vitamins and minerals that can help nourish the skin. With ingredients that include tea tree oil, lavender oil, jojoba oil and aloe which is grown at the studio.
Our unisex exfoliating mitt is washable and gentle enough on the skin to help remove dead skin cells post lasering treatments. Use with Goat's milk soap.
Jojoba oil mimics the sebum, the natural oil produced by our skin. Helping to regulate the natural production of the oil by the epidermis, jojoba oil is a wonderful hydrator that is lightweight and prevents ingrown hairs by nourishing the top layer of the skin, allowing the fine new hair growth to push through and avoid being trapped. It's perfect to nourish any area after hair removal to keep the skin in great condition at home until your next service.
